About First Lady Naomi G. Ward

Missionary Naomi Green Ward was born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in Hampton, Virginia. In her academic career, she matriculated at the Hampton Public Schools, Piedmont Valley Community College, Thomas Nelson Community College, and Regent University. The sixth child of Bishop Samuel L. Green, Jr. and the late Madam Vivian F. Green, Missionary Ward received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as an adult.
With loving hands and tender care Lady Ward was nurtured by her parents and her love for God and ministry was born. It has become apparent that the hand of God is on her life. Her devoted service at St. Johns Church of God in Christ spanned over 40 years. Her enthusiasm for young people drew her to youth ministry. While Minister of Music, she dedicated a large amount of her time to the Youth Department, creating different activities and programs for the young people. She also served as Sunday School teacher, YPWW teacher, member of several choirs, Mass Choir Secretary, Youth Choir President, Praise and Worship Team, Praise Dance Leader, and Second Jurisdiction State Choir Directress. In 1997, Lady Ward accepted the call to ministry and has been a licensed evangelist missionary in the Church of God in Christ since August 2004. Presently Missionary Ward serves the Staunton District as Treasurer and Financial Secretary.
The Lord continues to favor Lady Ward’s life. On July 1, 1983, she was blessed with the birth of her son, Superintendent Nathaniel Green. She was again honored by God when she married Superintendent William Ward on October 27, 2007. This union pushed Lady Ward to a greater ministry. She is now a member of Bethel Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of her husband, where she serves diligently in many capacities, heeding the call to go into all of the world delivering the loving word of Jesus Christ.
